It’s always great when a toy can be used in different ways and this lacing card set from Buddy and Barney is brilliant.
The skill of placing the lace through the holes as well as holding the card whilst completing the card allows the development of hand eye coordination, visual scanning and motor planning, to name but a few. Also, this skill will prove a useful one for future sewing and crafting.

The cards are colourful and sturdy and at the back there is the name of the object with its initial in lowercase. Food, animals and musical instruments are included so a good mix.

Though there is a card for each letter of the alphabet they don’t have to be used all at once. Used individually they would work well alongside letter of the day, for practising name and letter recognition and they are a great all round fun activity.
My girls really enjoy using them and Baby enjoys touching the cut outs with his ickle fingers, as well as trying to eat the laces.
