Astrid Lindgren is the author of the popular Pippi Longstocking stories. Today, marks 75 years since Astrid gifted her daughter a manuscript of the stories. The first book was then published later that year. It was also her daughter who came up with the name Pippi Longstocking.

Born in Sweden Astrid fell in love with reading after her friend read her a story which highlighted how books can take you on an extraordinary journey.
