Book review: Little People Big Dreams Greta Thunberg by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara and illustrated by Anke Weckmann.

Little people big dreams book on mammafilz.com about activist Greta

Young activists from today are being included in the Little People Big Dreams series.

The book is published by Frances Lincoln Childrens books, written by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara and illustrated by Anke Weckmann.

The first to brace bookshelves is all about Greta Thunberg. A young Swedish activist who inspired 4500 strikes over the 2019 Global Week For Future.

Readers are informed about Greta growing up and how she stopped talking due to her anxiety over the climate change crisis. In amongst her personal struggles the biography highlights how determined she was and how passionate she is about bringing change. Her not attending school each Friday may spark an interesting discussion with your little readers. This was when Greta would protest outside Swedish parliament leading to School Strike For Climate.

I absolutely love the art work through out this book. From the endpapers to the detailed double page spreads, they are all striking.

I’m so excited to see which other young activists will be part of this super series.
