Book review: 5 Wild Numbers illustrated by Bella Gomez.

5 Wild Numbers is a brilliant board book that has been very popular in my home. This is a great number based book that teaches children about the numbers 1-5. As well as explaining what each digit means, shown by the amount of animals you see on each double page, the book also brilliantly allows children to practice the formation of numbers.5 Wild Numbers

Each oversized number has a moveable disk within it which young readers can slide around, tracing the number at the same time. It is a such a brilliant idea, introducing young ones to number but also a book which children can take more from as they get older. My girls are 1 and 4 and it’s been a super book for them to share together, with my eldest sharing her number knowledge and rehearsing her number writing, while my youngest observes the animals and counts in the way that she can at 1.

As well as teaching children numbers 1-5 the book also introduces young readers to different animals and their habitats. The illustrations throughout are brilliant and convey the varying habitats artistically.

The book has been a great resource to use when we incorporate some number learning at home and we highly recommend this colourful, sturdy read.
