Book review: This book is NOT a bedtime story! By Eoin McLaughlin and illustrated by Robert Starling

This book is not a bedtime story book review

Ah this book is brilliantly funny. This Book is Not a Bedtime Story is written by Eoin McLaughlin and illustrated by Robert Starling and recently published by Pavilion.

A book that has proved popular as a bedtime story for my girls this is so fun.

The book is an entertaining read all about monsters that think they are scary. They do their best to convince animals including frog that they are a “horrible bunch.”
Exploring various settings including a bat cave, where there are no bats, and a haunted house to scare a mouse, who is not scared at all but busy knitting. This will have young and older readers giggling.

The book is a fine example of read aloud fun with its rhythmic text and witty and comical dialogue from various characters. The bold illustrations and colourful monsters complete this book wonderfully. Teachers, this would be a fab one for shared reading for class story time and equally a great one for bedtime, my girls would echo this also.
