“But sometimes we just need to open our hearts, when we come together, that’s when real change starts.”
This wonderful book! Like The ocean We Rise by Nicola Edwards and Sarah Wilkins shares a powerful message and the way in which it is elegantly told amongst appealing art work makes for such a memorable read.
Readers are reminded that we mustn’t take our environment for granted. Though we can bring about change in small ways, we mustn’t underestimate such efforts because as we unite these efforts multiply.
The book cleverly weaves in various ideas as to how this can be done, the emphasis always being on “we” which are represented by raindrop cut outs throughout the book.
The message of community and us opening our hearts is such a poignant one for 2020 alone but ultimately we all need to be conscious in our choices. Not only environmentally but socially too.
“Though we might be small in a world that is wide, together we swell until we turn the tide.”
I adore the artwork, the attention to detail and the community that reflects reality. In reading this book I’m appreciative of the work of such a talented author and illustrator team. Nicola Edwards and Sarah Wilkins have created a rather special read.
If your library including in learning settings doesn’t have this book I think you should definitely recommend it.
