The girls bedtime read tonight was mesmerising. Look Up At The Stars by Katie Cotton is beautifully presented with art work by Miren Asiain Lora. This book would make an utterly wonderful gift for young and older readers who share an appreciation for super picture books.

The lyrical text follows the thoughts and ideas between a parent and child as they go on search for a star.

Look up at the stars, so high above me.
If I could just hold one, how happy I’d be.

The book is a celebration of adventure with the parent trying so hard to capture a star. They go through the woods, sail across seas and walk through snowy scenes so that they can climb Mount Digger Doo with the aim of the youngster getting to hold a star.

Will they truly be able to reach the stars?
