Happy December! This is my first festive post for December and I am sharing a lovely cloth/rag book for the youngest of readers. Cloth books are brilliant for babies. They are tactile, easy to manoeuvre page to page, super light and there is no worry about any pages tearing. Of course they are also a wonderful introduction to a lifetime of reading.
Lisa Jones and Edward Underwood have created four, Tiny Little Story cloth books published by Nosy Crow including their latest release Christmas. This colourful read celebrates the festive fun of Christmas touching on winter and traditions such as Christmas trees. The book includes faces of animals and people as well as wonderful high contrast patterns.
The book would make a lovely gift to the run up to Christmas as well as to receive on the day and is recommended for babies 6 months and upwards. The pages are well padded and make a fun crinkly sound and there is a strap that could be tied to a play gym, highchair or buggy. This book can also be hand washed, hooray!
The book is more then just colourful illustrations and does share a little story with its young readers introducing first words amongst a simple a narrative. I am sure babies will delight in reading this book, my 8 month old niece certainly enjoyed sharing this book with me.

As well as Christmas here are the other cloth books created by Lisa Jones and Edward Underwood.
I shall be sharing more books for preschoolers and under so do look out for those. Until then, happy reading.
