Marilyn Singers latest picture book has been published this month and along with Paul Daviz illustrations, this is a great non-fiction read. I would recommend this for 6 year olds and up.
Strange these animals may be but this book is a celebration of the animals peculiarities well explained in this informative read. Hammer headed bats, hairy frogs, helmeted hornbills and kiwis are amongst this great mix of animals that young readers will enjoy learning more about.
Complete with features you would expect of a non-fiction read the text is mindful of its audience of young readers, with its well written and inviting tone.
The illustrations throughout the book are bold using a palette of deep colours making each double page a striking read. I’m sure the front cover will entice readers in with those amazing glowing eyes of the aye aye.
This is a fun non-fiction read and would be a great one to use in a learning setting.
