An Anthology of Intriguing Animals is written by wildlife journalist Ben Hoare with illustrations by Daniel Long, Angela Rizza and Daniela Terrazzini.

This book is a wonderful anthology and different from others I’ve previously seen. Combined with information on each double page about various animals, there are also some myths and stories included too.

Bursting with amazing photography and wonderful illustrations this is a real treat for young readers. Though young readers would adore seeing the animals so closely I would recommend the book to 6 years old and up as I feel they would appreciate the whole book a lot more. It is a read that I’m sure they will treasure with the absolutely delightful shimmering front cover and dipped gold page edges.

The book could be dipped in and out of and it is packed with animal facts including those of lemurs, tigers butterflies and sloths. There is also a handy ribbon bookmark to help keep turned page corners at bay.

A wonderful book that I’m sure would make a much appreciated gift.
