These appealing, interactive slide and see board books are full of fantastic illustrations and gentle rhyming text that have proved popular in our home.
Things That Go, written by Matthew Morgan and illustrated by Olivier Latyk. In this colourful read little ones will find different types of transport and pages transforming into detailed scenes. A page of diggers transforms into a busy construction site and a traditional American yellow school bus turns into a scene of school kids busyness. The range of transport within the book is brilliant and will be sure to encourage lots of discussion. The book also embraces diversity and represents women in jobs that are known to be male dominated.
In Meet The Animals written by Matthew Morgan and illustrated by Deborah van de Leijgraaf readers are introduced to animals such as elephants, monkeys and various habitats including the Coral reef. Whilst working their finger and hand strength readers will enjoy pulling the easy to use slide features that thankfully aren’t too stiff to use. The pages open up to a world of animal families including this adorable elephant scene which prompted my youngest poppet and I to explore size.
The books are easy to manoeuvre around and are an ideal size for little hands. As well as introducing children to new vocabulary and rhythmic text the books are great for practising eye hand coordination.
We adore the illustrations in both books and think they would make brilliant gifts for 2 year olds and up.
