Book review: Looking After William by Eve Coy.

Our favourite book borrowed from the library this week has to be this utterly charming book.

I recall seeing the book online when it was first published but hadn’t got round to reading it and then in the library the other day it was like a slow motion moment of happiness. It is such a gorgeous book that has been written and illustrated by Eve Coy. Her debut picture book that is sure to bring a smile to your face.

Titled Looking After William, William is infact the father. The little girl has a great imagination and she is pretending to be mummy for the day.

The simple storyline is sure to make you chuckle and combined with the pages upon pages of illustrations that you just want to keep looking at, this book is an absolute delight.

It’s lovely to see the perspective of “mummy” through a child’s eyes. She is complimentary of her father and is confident in him achieving a great job, when he is “grown up.”

This would make such a gorgeous gift to a parent but it doesn’t need to be on Father’s Day. Hunt this book down, curl up with your precious ones and enjoy this heartwarming, smiley read.
