Product review: The Girl Element pyjamas

Welcome to my latest blog piece which is dedicated to a new clothing brand, specialising in children’s nightwear.

The Girl Element have a clear vision and that is to create a range of nightwear for girls who dare to be different. Founder Kate Haddon was left frustrated a number of years ago whilst shopping for pyjamas with her daughter. Everything on offer was far too pink and frilly, conforming to many a gender stereotypes and it was then that the idea of The Girl Element was born.

The Girl Elements first range of pyjamas is STEM (Science, engineering, math and technology) and the prints on all the current range are absolutely super. All the pyjamas are made from certified organic cotton jersey fabric and they have met strict standards ensuring no harmful dyes or substances have been used at any stage of production.

If ordering from The Girl Element website on receiving the pyjamas you’ll be pleased to see that the chosen packaging is biodegradable. The black outer packaging will compost within six months. On receiving the pyjamas we also received a poster connected to the STEM theme which is brilliant.

Each of my girls were delighted to receive a pair of pyjamas from The Girl Element. My eldest, 5 year old, received a pair of CREATE pyjamas which is a fun introduction to the periodic table. It fitted in really well with her enthusiasm for learning about science and her meeting female book characters who share the same passion like Ada Twist .  The pyjamas are such a great way of introducing common elements to children and the cornflower blue background just pops.

My youngest daughter, 2 year old, received a pair of THINK pyjamas. The print on these pyjamas are simple and colourful and represents that maths is everywhere. My daughter was so happy to receive these as she is beginning to recognise some numbers so you can imagine her reaction when she opened these up. “That’s 2,” a very special number of course as that is her age.

There is no denying how soft the fabric is and the pyjamas fit both my girls really well. The handy size guide on The Girl Element website is there if you are not sure. Since receiving them they have been washed and hung out to dry and they have washed well.

We are excited to see what The Girl Element design next and we think these pyjamas would make a lovely gift. To find out more about The Girl Element and to see their entire range head over to their website, The Girl Element. You can also find them on Instagram @thegirlelement.
